How to ask someone out (without it being awkward)
Asking someone on a date is nerve-racking no matter how you do it. A few things make it easier for both of you.
1.Keep it light
A first date is just a chance to spend an hour together. Asking for coffee or a walk feels easier to say yes to than a big dinner, and it takes the pressure off both of you.
2.Be specific
“We should hang out sometime” is easy to wave away. Two or three real days and a clear idea — “Saturday afternoon, that new café?” — shows you mean it and makes answering simple.
3.Let them choose
Offering a few options instead of one fixed time is considerate: they can fit it around their week without having to turn you down. That is exactly what a date invite link does.
4.Mention something you share
Tie the plan to a real conversation: the band you both like, the momos they swear by, the film they keep talking about. It shows you listen, and it gives you something to talk about on the day.
5.Make “no” easy too
A playful runaway button is fun, but they can always say no, and they should feel fine doing so. A kind no today keeps the friendship — and sometimes becomes a yes later.
6.Follow up in person
Once they pick a time, send a quick message the day before to confirm. The link starts the conversation; you still get to carry it.

How does a date invite link work?
You pick a few days and times you are free, add date ideas if you like, and get a private link. When they open it, they see a sealed invite asking “Will you go on a date with me?”. If they say yes, they choose one of your days, one of your times and a plan, and both of you get a ticket with the details.
Can they actually say no?
Yes. The No button playfully runs away and changes its text a few times, but after five tries it stays put and they can say no, with an optional kind note. A real answer matters more than a forced yes.
How will I know what they picked?
We email you the moment they answer, with the day, time and plan they chose and any note they left. You can also open your own link again at any time — it shows their answer.
What if none of my days work for them?
They can tap “None of these work?” and suggest their own day and time instead. You will see their suggestion in the email and on the link.
Can I offer only times, or only days?
Yes. Offer days, times or both — the invite only asks about what you gave. Date ideas are optional too.
Do they need to install an app or sign up?
No. The link opens in any phone or computer browser, including inside WhatsApp and Instagram. Neither of you needs an account.
Can they add the date to their calendar?
Yes. After they say yes, both of you can add the date to Google Calendar or download a calendar file for Apple Calendar and Outlook in one tap.
Who can see my invite?
Only people who have the exact link. Invite links use a long random code, they are hidden from Google and other search engines, and your email is never shown to them. You can delete the invite from the device you made it on.
Is it free? How long does the link last?
It is completely free. Invite links work for 90 days, so they stay useful even if you plan a few weeks ahead.
